As the Regional Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of sales organization, collaborating with growers, distributors, and a dedicated team to enhance crop production and drive business growth. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to expert in non-hazardous crop protection products and nutritional ag-chemicals across the assigned region. 
  • Forge Lasting Relationships: Establish and nurture strong relationships with distributor management to identify challenges, propose solutions, and uncover opportunities.
  • Hands-On Support: You will manage a TEAM of 7 sales account managers and travel alongside Territory Managers to provide support and explore new business avenues, leveraging existing relationships and tapping into untouched markets. 
  • Coach and Mentor: Provide guidance and support to the Team of Territory Managers, ensuring they excel in selling the full product portfolio and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. 
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee product supply chain logistics, facilitate communication between the sales team and manufacturing, and troubleshoot any logistical challenges. 
  • Strategic Leadership: Identify market trends, align resources to capitalize on opportunities, and collaborate closely with the North America Commercial director to drive business growth. 
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Address customer product complaints, identify commercial opportunities, and support promotional activities to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. 
  • Forecasting and Execution: Ensure accurate and timely forecast inputs, develop and manage sales projects, and drive the team towards achieving forecast and plan targets. 
  • Build Alliances: Cultivate strategic alliances with key accounts and channel partners to unlock cross-selling and up-selling opportunities and strengthen our market presence. 
  • Problem Solving: Effectively manage and resolve customer issues, demonstrating agility and a customer-first mindset. 
  • Pricing Strategy: Manage local pricing strategies in alignment with Global Product Management guidelines, optimizing business growth and profitability. 
  • Champion of Culture: Positively contribute to the growth of their corporate culture.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Crop Science, Agronomy, or related field 
  • 8+ years of experience in specialty agricultural product development and marketing support 
  • PCA and/or CCA certifications preferred. 
  • Extensive knowledge of regional crops, distributors, and customers 
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively. 
  • Clean driving record and excellent communication skills in English (Spanish proficiency is a plus) 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Position Summary

Territory Managers sell high quality, value-added adjuvants and nutritional products to agricultural retailers throughout the region. They also will work with growers to uncover needs and enhance crop production and to ensure a smooth sales process. The Territory Manager will work to find new sales leads through business directories, client referrals, trade shows, etc., to increase sales for the company. The territory for this position will cover Southern Idaho, Utah, Nevada, & Wyoming.  

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • ​​​​​Actively engaged in assigned territory with PCAs, Growers, Distributors and Extensions  
  • Selling high quality, value-added adjuvants and nutritional products to agricultural retailers throughout the region

  • Demonstrates deep understanding of the market in assigned sales territory.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Crop Science or similar agricultural, scientific/technical field of study preferred, or equivalent work experience.   
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in specialty crops (fruit, nuts and vegetables) sales or development and marketing support  
  • Extensive knowledge of crop production and cultural practices  
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to entire territory region.  
  • Strong knowledge of sales in agricultural specialty products (adjuvants, specialty fertilizer and pesticides)  
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation skills resulting in profitable growth.   
  • Familiarity with CRM software and proven ability to use it as an enabling tool to manage and drive sales. 
  • Exhibits passion, energy and creativity in the sales and support of company’s products and objectives  
  • Results oriented and takes initiative, overcomes obstacles, and finds creative solutions to challenges.  
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, both in group and individual meetings  
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate product, market, competitive and customer data.  
  • Excellent communication skills in English required but bilingual skills in Spanish is a plus.   
  • Solid computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Power Point a must.

In conjunction with building strong and long-term relationships, the primary role of the TSM is to create demand and provide high-level of service and support to the defined sales territory. The TSM spends the majority of their time dedicated to working directly with distributor PCAs, growers and key market influencers including the grower PCA’s and CCA’s.  The TSM partners with the marketing, product development and sales support teams to achieve revenue goals, long-term account goals, and enhanced customer satisfaction consistent with the company’s high standards.


 Essential Functions:

  • Develop an annual territory business plan to drive business in key focus markets.
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with a list of key growers to effectively create demand for the company’s portfolio of products and increase market share.
  • Manage the sales process via a Customer Relation Management (CRM) system to monitor progress with assigned key grower accounts.
  • Implement grower demos as a key strategy to increase grower experience with company’s products.
  • Establish product-specific goals with each assigned grower and monitor progress against goals.
  • Meet or exceed agreed upon sales goals.
  • Develop strong internal working relationships with colleagues in Sales, Marketing, Field Development, R&D and key administrative personnel.

Education:

Experience:

  • Bio-pesticide experience is preferred, but not required.
  • PCA or CCA required or acquired within a year of hiring.
  • Candidate must reside in their assigned territory (Ventura – Hollister)


Travel: 30% – 40% of the time via car or by air.  These hours may be longer than 8-5 p.m., M-F.
Ability to travel overnight travel to annual meetings/conferences (up to 7 consecutive days) required; overnight
travel to other meetings (typically 1-5 consecutive days); inclusion of weekends may be involved.

Summary: The Sr Sales Manager will work closely with key distributor pca’s to sell mainly in California, but also in other approved States.

Our client, a global supplier and manufacturer, is commercializing the first EPA-registered product to treat Pierce’s Disease in grapevines. Their unique solution utilizes bacteriophages to target and kill the bacteria at the source of the problem – giving wine growers an organic and sustainable solution to a rising threat in California and other States. The goal is to harness the power of bacteriophages to improve “One Health”: humans, animals, and our environment.

The position will be responsible for Distributor support of the company’s groundbreaking organic certified biocontrol for Pierce’s Disease (PD), a unique treatment for PD available to wine grape growers. Once a grapevine contracts PD it will die within a few years. The product can be used both to treat infected vines as well as a prophylactic to prevent infection.  

The position has 5 main tasks:

  1. Promotion of product to Distributors, their PCA’s/Sales Representatives, and branches mainly through in-person meetings and maintain and record customer data such as meeting summaries and latest estimates of sales.
  2. Aid key opinion leaders in planning and executing product demonstrations with growers and communicating results.
  3. Supervise and coordinate customer contacts with a direct report, the Field Application Specialist who is the lead for training and support and focuses on sales to Key Accounts in North Coast
  4. Lead for collaboration with Distributors for organizing and carrying out field days, industry meetings and presentations. Able to influentially present technical information and explain and demonstrate product application to growers and distributors.
  5.  Travel to other States about twice per year to work with Distributors, PCA’s and supervise product demonstrations.

Based in California, preferably in North Coast work and some travel to other States such as Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Collaborates closely with one direct report, the Field Application Specialist, and also with R&D Lead, Sales and Marketing Director.

Specific Requirements of the Representative:

  • BS degree in Agronomy or Agricultural related field
  • High level of experience in agricultural sales and a commitment to customer service and history of achieving sales goals
  • Ability to understand thoroughly and explain product technical information to customers and key accounts.
  • Close collaboration relationships with Distributors, PCA’s and KOL’s with mainly in-person meetings with a target of 10 per week.
  • Confidently provide production demonstrations and applications to customers, in collaboration with Field Application Specialist 
  • Ability to deliver effective technical and sales presentations. 
  • Collaborate with Distributors and KOL’s to organize and implement the promotion of products at field days.
  • Support / collaborate with R&D, for customer field trials.
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue new opportunities.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Valid Driver’s License

Our client is creating a center for regenerative agriculture, a unique education center and demonstration farm while building a community and strong network to help successfully transition conventional farmers to regenerative agriculture.

They have built and repurposed an old dairy into a certified regenerative vineyard. Over the last 10 years they have worked with a world-renowned grape expert to build a new delicious, seedless muscadine grape, full of antioxidants and nutrients. They are expanding from 30 acres to 70 acres in 2024 and need a Vineyard Manager to oversee the site and farm operation. 

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Scout vineyards weekly for disease, pest, and vine health
  • Coordinate all planting and spraying activities with the vineyard staff.
  • Implement and plan for soil health practices, vine nutrition management, and adapt grazing strategies.
  • Coordinate and improve data collection and record keeping.
  • Provide leadership and accountability for supervisory employees in the vineyard function.
  • Recruit and oversee the efforts of an assistant Vineyard Manager
  • Provide oversight for P&L for vineyard operation.

Essential background requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture or related Ag Science degree
  • 5-10 years experience in vineyard management
  • Knowledge of grape vine pruning and training techniques in table or winegrapes
  • Experience with mechanical harvesting technologies.
